PVOC for Exports to Kenya
The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) is a Kenyan government agency (website: http://www.kebs.org/), which formulates and implements standards for imported and domestic products in the Kenyan market. KEBS began implementing the Pre-Export Product and Standard Conformity Verification (PVoC) project on September 29, 2005. The project conducts conformity assessment and procedures for specific goods, which are applicable to exports from various countries to ensure that the quality of imported products, the health and safety of Kenyan citizens, and environmental protection comply with Kenyan technical regulations, implementation standards or approved approval standards.
Business scope:
All goods must obtain a certificate of conformity (CoC) issued by a KEBS authorized agency before shipment. The Kenya Bureau of Standards also stipulates 16 categories of exemption PVoC procedures, see the Kenya Bureau of Standards website http://www.kebs.org.
